1. Who we are
ShuttleStats operates in the United Kingdom (“ShuttleStats”, “we”, “us”). You can reach us at hello@shuttlestats.app.
These terms apply when you use a ShuttleStats site — your club’s pages, bookings, live boards, stats, and notifications.
2. Two agreements, not one
Using ShuttleStats involves two separate relationships. First, between you and us: we provide the software. Second, between you and your badminton club: when you book a session, your booking contract is with the club, not with ShuttleStats. Payments are taken through your club’s own Stripe account, and your club is the seller of court time. ShuttleStats may charge your club a small per-transaction platform fee for providing the service, deducted through Stripe at the time of payment; the rest is your club’s.
3. Your account
You sign in with your Google account. Your club’s admins may create your player profile for you to claim — or, where your club allows it, you can join yourself from your club’s site. Claiming an existing player profile always needs the club’s approval. Either way, your sign-in identity and your per-club player profile are linked once you’re in.
Keep your sign-in to yourself. We can suspend accounts that abuse the service (see section 6). You can stop using the service at any time; your club controls membership of its own club space.
4. Bookings & cancellation
You can cancel a booking for free up until 24 hours before the session starts — the free-cancellation window. The window in force is shown to you at the time you book, and the policy shown at booking governs that booking.
If you cancel within the free-cancellation window, what you paid is returned to you as booking credit. If you cancel after the window has passed, you may still cancel — but you forfeit the amount you paid, and no credit is returned. The app warns you before you confirm a late cancellation.
If you ask your club to cancel a booking for you after the free-cancellation window has closed, the same forfeiture applies as if you had cancelled it yourself; the club records that you asked. If your club removes you from a session for its own reasons, what you paid is returned to you as booking credit.
If a session is full you can join its waiting list. You pay nothing while you wait, and a freed spot is offered to you — you are never booked or charged automatically from the waiting list.
5. Credit & payments
Your club balance works as booking credit: 1 credit always equals £1. You top up by card — the card payment is taken through your club’s Stripe account, and your card details never pass through ShuttleStats servers. A small ShuttleStats platform fee may be deducted from your club through Stripe; what you pay and the credit you receive are unaffected. Where your club chooses to pass this fee on, a small service fee is shown and added to your payment before you confirm — you always see the total before paying. Bookings are paid from your credit balance.
Refunds are issued as booking credit, not as cash. That includes refunds for sessions your club cancels, bookings your club removes for its own reasons, and cancellations you make within the free-cancellation window. The one exception is a late cancellation you ask the club to make for you — that forfeits like your own late cancellation (see section 4). As an exception to the credit-only rule, a club admin may, at the club’s discretion, return a specific card payment to your card; the matching credit is then removed from your balance.
Credit belongs to your player profile at your club. It is not transferable to another player except at your club’s discretion, on request to the club. Credit has no cash value except where the law says otherwise, and it cannot be used at a different club.
If a card payment is reversed outside the app — a chargeback or a dispute — the matching credit is removed from your balance, which may leave it negative and pause your ability to book until it is settled with your club.
Where your club offers more than one bookable option you can switch your booking to another; any extra cost is paid the same way as a booking, and what you had already paid follows the same refund rules.
6. Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the service: no attempting to access other clubs’ data or other members’ accounts, no automated scraping, no abusive content in names or profiles, no interfering with live session boards you are not part of. We can suspend accounts that do.
7. Availability & changes
We work to keep the service available at all times, but it is provided “as is” and we don’t guarantee uninterrupted availability. We add, change, and occasionally remove features; where a change materially affects how you use the service, we say so on this page and tell your club.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law of England and Wales, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud. Beyond that, we are not liable for disputes between you and your club (including about payments, refunds, or membership), for losses that are not a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms, or for business losses — the service is provided for private use.
9. Changes to these terms
When we make a material change to these terms we update the “Last updated” date above, and the note beneath it says what changed. If you keep using the service after a change takes effect, the updated terms apply to you. If you don’t agree with a change, stop using the service and contact your club about any open bookings or credit.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — though if you live elsewhere in the UK you may also rely on your local courts.
